Incentives

All Albertans who take possession of a new EnerGuide labelled single-family or multi-family row home (excluding stacked multi-family construction) on or after January 1, 2009 are eligible for one of the following rebates:

  • $1500 for new homes receiving an EnerGuide rating of 80 or 81;
  • $3,000 for new homes receiving an EnerGuide rating of 82 to 85; or
  • $10,000 for new homes that meet or exceed EnerGuide 86.

City of Medicine Hat residents who take possession of a new EnerGuide labelled single-family or multi-family row home (excluding stacked multi-family construction) on or after February 16, 2010 are ALSO eligible for one of the following HAT Smart rebates:

  • $1,000 for new homes receiving an EnerGuide rating of 78 or 79;
  • $1,500 for new homes receiving an EnerGuide rating of 80 or 81 (Total of $3,000 when combined with provincial rebate); or
  • $3,000 for new homes receiving an EnerGuide rating of 82, 83, 84, or 85 (Total of $6,000 when combined with provincial rebate); or
  • $10,000 for new homes that meet or exceed EnerGuide 86 (Total of $20,000 when combined with provincial rebate).

The Medicine Hat New Home rebate cannot be combined with the city’s Renewable Energy rebates.
